The Dream Maker
Meet Bettina Carroll-Pratt, Founder & CEO of Luxury Dream Designs
Bettina’s creative journey began early, with a passion for the arts that led her to study at the Philadelphia College of Art. Immersed in a variety of disciplines, including color and design, photography, and sculpture, she found her true calling in creating beauty through visual expression.
After college and a stint in administrative work, Bettina longed to reconnect with her creative roots. In 2002, she opened her first art gallery in Mammoth Lakes, nestled in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, featuring Native American and Western art. A decade later, she closed the gallery to focus on family and relocated to Southern California.
There, she joined a local artisan co-op, designing luxury handmade pillows and curating goods inspired by the ancient Silk Road Collections. After the co-op closed, Bettina’s passion for meaningful design, travel, and collaboration with female artisans, particularly from East and Central Asia, sparked the vision for Luxury Dream Designs: a web-based lifestyle and luxury design destination.
Today, Bettina’s collection includes distinctive jewelry and clothing that reflect the rich techniques and timeless styles of Central Asian, Tibetan, Indian, and Nepalese craftsmanship. She also curates vintage pieces from iconic American designers such as Kenneth Jay Lane.
Beyond Luxury Dream Designs, Bettina’s love for her rescue animals inspired the creation of Jewels Fur Paws, a sister brand offering handcrafted gemstone necklaces for cats and dogs. A portion of all proceeds supports animal shelters and rescue organizations.
Through her work, Bettina continues to celebrate culture, craftsmanship, and compassion, infusing every design with heart, heritage, and a touch of dreamlike beauty.
